Conference and Events Manager - 18/08/21

Objectives of the role: The Conference and Events Manager is responsible for the C&E department in order to optimise group, conference and meeting revenues in line with the objectives set by the hotel. For that he/she will work proactively on customer requests as well as the communication with all departments. He/she will report to the Director of Sales Luxury Hotels (DOSLH). Key Responsibilities: 1. The Team To motivate, support and encourage the C&E team to be at their best at all times Take part and/or lead departmental meetings, team briefings, work projects Support other team members to achieve common objectives Train and develop team to grow and learn Monitor team performance 2. Strategy and prospection In charge of client accounts and bookings and makes sure that the objectives are achieved or exceeded Develop a sales culture in accordance with the Hotel and department's strategy. Respond to requests according to the hotel's strategy and procedures in order to optimise revenue Strive to convert a request into a contracted file Pro-actively Identify new accounts and develop new requests and business Prepare and analyse daily, weekly and monthly reports as indicated by management. Participate in Revenue Meetings to gain further insight in business Work in close collaboration with the DOSLH and the Director of Revenue and Capacity Management for the preparation of the budget and the forecast 3. Relations Actively maintains and grows successful client relationships Highly values customer satisfaction and strives to solve potential problems to maximize and build customer loyalty. Communicates effectively to all different stakeholders so that all are well informed of booked events and any last-minute changes. Develop and maintains an excellent knowledge of the premises and offerings in order to present the customer with maximum options and benefits Acquires a good knowledge of the competition and events impacting the city

Compétences requises:   Interpersonal skills: Positive attitude Excellent communication and collaboration skills An attitude that is aligned with the company's objectives A high degree of self-motivation Ability to work independently and under pressure Aptitude for change management Leadership skills Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Business School or Hotel / Events Management) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in event organisation Knowledge of Opera S&C system is a plus Good administrative and excellent organisational skills Fluent communication (oral/written) skills in French and English, any other language is a plus (Dutch/German)
