Global Sales Manager - 18/01/19

Main purpose of job We seek a colleague who is responsible for coordinating efforts for companies that conduct business in the international market places. He/She may generate new business, make presentations, build and maintain clients relationships including in domestic and in global markets. He/She is the main contact person for corporate customers based around the globe. He/She is someone who pushes boundaries and challenges the status quo. He/She is ambitious and passionate in everything he/She does. Then we want him/her in our team. He/She is reporting to the Director of Sales and reporting quarterly to the VP Sales and KAM via a sales meeting. Responsibilities / Tasks: • The GSO is responsible for the corporate segment business development, for all Thon Hotels properties • Pro-active acquisitions sales – Acquires, saturates and penetrates accounts for individuals and group business. Maintains some current business relationships, but mainly networks for the new business within accounts. • The GSO is responsible, thru different supports, for identifying prospects and clients for all hotels in the chain. Converting these prospects into actual clients and follow up the production. • Maintains accuracy and up to date account data and reporting using account management system (in Super Office) • Account Team Leadership – creates sales strategy for account penetration in their assigned market. • Identify key decision makers for Corporate accounts based in the definite region. • Generates leads for through telemarketing, person-to-person meetings and networking with prospective and actual clients • Contact global target customers, make initial contact and secure RFP’s • Prepare business presentation as needed and tailored to target companies • Collaborate with head office and regional director of sales on new account acquisition or development • Focus on new customers, including reveal and negotiate hotel agreements and conference/incentive agreements on behalf of Thon Hotels in Brussels, Rotterdam and Norway • Conduct sales activities in relation to set goals • Prepare proposals on the basis of specific requests revealed in clients meetings, intended to cover the cross selling of MICE • Preparation of own activity plans, for the customers. These will be processed through active sales work and relationship building activitites, with the aim of prioritizing Thon Hotel’s portfolio of hotels by obtaining offers on events and space blocks. • Sell and promote all hotels with meeting capacity in Thon Hotels portfolio.

Compétences requises:   Skill set we are looking for: • A minimum of 4 years’ experience as Account Manager in a hotel chain. • Customer focused attitude with ideally proven face-to –face client selling experience. • Strong written and oral communication skills, fluent in English • Strong communication skills, solid organizational and telesales skills • Ability to juggle numerous projects and maintain a strong work ethic • Knowledge of word, excel, powerpoint, and other computer programs • Must be able to work flexible hours, travel, conduct sales calls and have presentation skills, strong negotiating skills and creative selling techniques • Must have a valid driver’s license • Flexible schedule, working nights and weekends if travel plan requires this • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per month if travel plan requires it • Sales disposition – energetic, proactive, takes calculated risks and perseveres to attain goals • Location: position based in Brussels • Must detain an UE work permit In addition, you can identify you with our 3 basic values: 1) Passionately committed, 2) Professional hospitality and 3) The power to please.
